Ground rules established for our spiritual program

1. Attendance: Please call the teacher ahead of time as a courtesy if your child needs to be excused from the class.

Absences due to sickness and travel , enriching programs like boy scouts, piano concerts are considered excused absences.
Attending a friend's birthday party is NOT !

2. Punctuality : We are a spiritual class trying to reinforce ethical qualities in a child and being on time is a very important one.
The consequence for not being on time, is waiting outside until the other children finish their devotional session and not barge
in and cause disruption. If your child stands outside once, we hope they will make sure you bring them on time the next time.
So its really an opportunity for a parent to reinforce this value of punctuality in the child.

3. Uniform : ( white pants and shirts for boys and white salwar kurtas for girls, older girls are required to wear a dupatta as a
sign of modesty ) White uniforms are conducive to internalize appropriate behavior and evince proper learning of spiritual
material. We are trying to get you more information on where you can get white salwar kurtas for girls here in Dallas.

4. Life application : This is an area of utmost importance and needs your serious attention. Don't you expect your child to
practice his/her piano lesson? Music lesson? Dance ? then why not values ?? isn't this more important to life ???
We as teachers will set age appropriate consequences for not practicing the life application. (Lets desist from using the word
'home work' please !! ) After all regular practice helps them to acquire good values that they can use through out their life.

5. We request all of our parents to reiterate greeting adults especially teachers.
How does it reflect on a child attending a spiritual program ? when they disregard an adult, or if they don't use 'please' 'thank
you' or 'excuse me'.
