Our purpose

Three things we set out to do

Everything at the center grows out of these three, and each one supports the other two.

01

Spiritual inquiry

Study circles, devotional singing and the steady practice of what the teachings ask of us — reflection first, then living it.

02

Education of children

Bal Vikas runs every Sunday morning through the school year, from Kindergarten to 10th grade, taught by volunteers.

03

Service to community

A hot meal at Austin Street on the first Friday of the month, care kits in winter, and a service project inside every teaching unit.

How we serve

Bal Vikas

Children start the journey with God

Our spiritual education programme for children is based on the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Classes take place every Sunday morning at the Alpha Montessori House in Frisco, and run right through the school year alongside unit presentations and service projects.

A group of dedicated volunteers serve as our teachers — devotees who love children and are committed to their emotional, moral and spiritual well-being.

The dawn of peace can be brought about only by learning, practicing and teaching the art of living together in peace and amity in homes. Then, peace in the world can be established, without delay and travail.

Centenary year

A podcast, made entirely by our students

Five episodes, created, hosted and voiced by Bal Vikas students to mark the centenary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Each one takes a single teaching, connects it to daily life, and asks families to practise it together.
